Upcoming FCP and TTFP Report Threshold Updates - Advance Notice
Expected Release Date: July 22nd 2025
Following Google’s update of thresholds for First Contentful Paint (FCP) and Time to Fast Byte (TTFB), we’ll soon be updating those thresholds in SEO projects to match. We expect to make this change on July 22nd and will notify you in the platform when this has been done.
Once the change is made, you will likely see improvements to Experience and Page Speed health scores—particularly for TTFB which has the most significant change.
The changes to the metrics are as follows:
First Contentful Paint (FCP) | Old (seconds) | New (seconds) |
Fast FCP | Below 2 | Below 1.8 |
Average FCP | Between 2 and 4 | Between 1.8 and 3 |
Slow FCP | Over 4 | Over 3 |
Time to First Byte (TTFB) | Old (seconds) | New (seconds) |
Fast Server Response | Below 0.2 | Below 0.8 |
Medium Server Response | Below 0.2 and 0.6 | Between 0.8 and 1.8 |
Slow Server Response | Over 0.6 | Over 1.8 |
Stored HTML Available for Custom Metrics
Release Date: July 3rd 2025
Some customers have been using our new AI-Powered Custom Metrics to check the difference between raw and rendered HTML. We’ve therefore added the ability to see the raw and rendered HTML of test URLs so you can confirm the custom metrics are working as expected.
On the right-hand side of the custom metrics results screen (after the metric has been created and tested), you’ll see an ‘Actions’ column with a button to click to view the HTML.
After clicking the View HTML button, a new window will open up, showing the Raw vs Rendered HTML side-by-side.
