This release note covers improvements made since the last release note, and during the current month. It will therefore be updated as new improvements are made to the Lumar platform, and will be finalised and replaced with a new release note at the end of the month.
Share of Voice
Release Date: 9th October 2026
AI Visibility now reports Share of Voice: your share of all brand appearances across AI answers, for mentions and for citations, measured against every brand AI actually names in the selected scope. Presence Rate answers “how often do we appear?”, and every brand can score 100% at once, so nothing in the product showed whether a competitor was taking a bigger slice of the conversation. Share of Voice sits on the dashboard as a donut and a stacked trend, and on the topic table as your share, the topic’s leading brand, and the gap to it in percentage points. Toggle between All Brands and My Competitors to recompute the shares against the field you care about, and hover any figure to see the numerator, denominator, and brand count behind it.
AI Visibility Score Update
Release Date: 9th October 2026
AI Visibility has split its blended Visibility Score into two metrics that answer two different questions. Presence Rate shows the share of prompt runs where your brand is mentioned or cited, so it moves when awareness changes. Quality Score shows how well the brand is represented when it does appear, scored 0 to 100 and weighted 75% on mention quality and 25% on citation quality, so it moves when positioning changes. The old blended score is kept, unchanged, as Visibility Index for ranking brands. Together the pair tells you whether a weak result is a reach problem or a positioning problem, which a single composite score could never do.
Metric | The question it answers | How to read it |
Presence Rate | How often does the brand appear in AI answers? | The share of prompt runs where the brand is mentioned or cited. When it moves, awareness is changing. |
| Quality Score | When the brand does appear, how well is it represented? | 0 to 100, weighted 75% on mention quality and 25% on citation quality. When it moves, positioning is changing. |
| Visibility Index | Who is winning overall? | The old blended score, kept unchanged. It ranks brands in Top Brands and the battle map, and is no longer a headline metric. |
